If you’ve ever wondered what your skills and knowledge were really worth, rpl is the answer. Standing for recognition of prior learning, or recognised prior learning, rpl is an academic approach to measuring the value of your experience against the benchmark of a nationally recognised qualification.
Why would you use rpl?
Done properly, rpl will give you the same qualification you can obtain if you sat in a classroom, or signed up for distance education – but it will cost less.
Yes, rpl saves you time – no need to go back to the classroom to be taught the skills and knowledge you’ve already picked up on the job. There are no exams to sit because your application is all based on the skills you’ve already developed.
Then there is also the saving in money as recognition of prior learning will also cost you less in dollars. A good rule of thumb is that it should cost you roughly half what the fees would be if you went and sat in that classroom.
So, who uses rpl?
Well, basically anyone who has the runs on the board is a good candidate. Our clients tend to be knowledge rich and time poor. They haven’t got time to sign up for a drawn out course because they’re busy applying the same skills in the real world that the course is about. Churchill Education has helped clients from all over Australia and overseas obtain qualifications through recognised prior learning; and we can help you.
